After receiving her graduate degree in Couple and Family Therapy, Saralyn worked in community mental health, serving children, families, and couples. Building on these experiences, Saralyn then obtained a doctorate in Human Development, to enable her research and understanding of evidence-based approaches to therapy, with specific focus on cognitive-behavioral treatments. She has been working in the Psychology Department at the University of San Francisco since 2012 and enjoys maintaining a clinical practice, recognizing the value of integrating research, teaching, and practice.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2013 Saralyn treats children, adults, couples, and families, addressing a variety of concerns, including:
